It's been a while since I've had group instruction and I've missed it so I’m happy to announce a new group option for accent modification. This is a 3-month summer program on Zoom that meets in May-June-July as a small (10 people max) group. We’ll meet twice a month as a group and each person meets with me one-to-one once a month.

Thank You to My Meetups
I’ve enjoyed my Meetup groups that moved online in 2020 because that opened it up for people to participate from all over the world, not just in Boston/Cambridge. The people that come are all kind, motivated, supportive of each other, and a joy for me to meet with. In order to extend that atmosphere to a more structured setting, I’ve decided to do group instruction for the first time since 2019 and do it all online.
The group will meet twice a month for a lesson and group practice.
Each person will meet with me once a month for a private session to really focus on your individual speech.
Each person will get a speech evaluation of the most essential speech features that make the biggest impact on being understood easily.
Weekly email prompts for practice will keep you in the habit of short and frequent practice.
What Will You Sound Like in July?
This is an opportunity to make the most of your summer and make more progress in three months than you would on your own. We’ll do pre and post recordings to help you notice and assess your progress. I know you’ll gain awareness of how you sound, and improve control of your voice in structured speaking situations such as imitating, reading a marked script, and speaking from notes.
I’m planning on doing a fall session (September - October - November 2024) and a spring session (February - March - April 2025) so if this summer doesn’t fit your schedule, let me know if you’d like to save a spot in the fall or spring.
Spring Cleaning
I’ve also been revamping my private speech coaching instruction and described the details in this post.
It feels good to make some changes to the way I’ve been doing things for so long. I know what works well so it’s a chance to make a fresh start and leave some things behind that don’t fit in as well.
I know the people that I work with are dedicated to making improvements and I feel that I’m making that an even more effective process.
